Contact the Laguna Phuket Guide

This independent Laguna Phuket guide is maintained by James R. Whitmore and a small team of Phuket-based research contributors. We welcome enquiries from travellers planning visits to the Laguna Phuket area, potential property buyers researching the Laguna estate market, and media or academic researchers seeking information about Phuket’s north-west coast destinations.

While we are not a booking agent, a hotel reservations service, or a property sales agency, we are happy to provide guidance, recommendations, and research assistance based on our direct knowledge of the area. Where enquiries fall outside our direct expertise or where a professional service is more appropriate — property legal advice, for example, or hotel booking assistance — we will direct you to the most suitable resources.

What We Can Help You With

Travel Planning

If you are planning a visit to Laguna Phuket, Bang Tao Beach, or Nai Yang and would like personalised advice on hotel selection, timing of visit, itinerary structuring, or activity recommendations, we are happy to assist. We have direct experience of all the major hotels on the Laguna estate and the key hotels at Nai Yang, and can provide honest, non-commercial assessments based on your specific priorities — whether that is maximum beach access, spa quality, family facilities, romantic atmosphere, or value for money.

Property Research

For individuals researching property investment in the Laguna Phuket area, we can provide general context on the estate’s residential portfolio, the branded residences developments, title structure considerations (freehold versus leasehold in the Thai context), and the general dynamics of the Phuket luxury property market. We want to be clear that we do not sell property — any property enquiries that develop into active purchase processes will need to be directed to licensed agents and independent legal counsel. Our role is to provide informed, independent context to help you frame the right questions.

Media and Research Enquiries

Journalists, editors, documentary producers, and academic researchers working on content related to Phuket’s tourism economy, coastal resort development, sustainable hospitality, or the Laguna Phuket estate specifically are welcome to reach out. We can provide background, context, and introduction to appropriate contacts where our direct knowledge permits.

Our Editorial and Research Standards

All responses to enquiries through this contact channel are provided in good faith, based on our direct knowledge and current research. We make every effort to ensure that information we provide is accurate and up to date, but we encourage all users of this resource — for travel, property, or any other purpose — to independently verify material facts before making decisions based on them. In particular, hotel rates, property prices, legal frameworks, and practical operational details (opening hours, availability, access requirements) are subject to change and should always be confirmed directly with the relevant service providers.

Response Times

We aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours on business days. During periods of peak enquiry volume — typically during the Northern Hemisphere winter months when planning for the Thai high season is at its most active — response times may extend slightly. We appreciate your patience and will respond to every enquiry in the order it is received.

About Phuket — Essential Visitor Information

Getting to Phuket

Phuket International Airport (IATA: HKT) is served by direct international flights from major hub airports including London Heathrow, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Singapore Changi, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and numerous other Asian and Middle Eastern gateways. Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, AirAsia, and numerous international carriers operate scheduled services. From the airport to Laguna Phuket, the journey is 20–25 minutes by taxi or private transfer.

Thailand Entry Requirements

From 1 May 2025, all international visitors to Thailand are required to complete an online Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours before arrival. The form is accessible at the official Thai immigration website: tdac.immigration.go.th. Most Western passport holders are eligible for a 30-day visa exemption on arrival, with extension possible through the Thai immigration department. Longer-stay options include the Thailand Elite Visa and the Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa, the latter introduced to attract high-value, long-term foreign residents. Visitors are advised to verify current entry requirements with the Royal Thai Embassy or consulate in their country of residence before travel.

Currency and Payments

The Thai Baht (THB) is the national currency. ATMs are widely available throughout the Laguna estate area, Canal Village, Cherng Talay, and the wider Bang Tao and Nai Yang areas. Major international credit and debit cards are accepted at all Laguna estate hotels, restaurants, and retail venues. The exchange rate against major currencies fluctuates; it is advisable to check the current rate before travelling and to avoid exchanging currency at airport kiosks, which typically offer less favourable rates than bank exchange counters.

“I contacted the guide team before our first visit to Phuket and the personalised recommendations made an enormous difference to our trip. We were steered away from a hotel that didn’t quite match our priorities and toward Angsana, which was perfect for us. The property investment context was also invaluable in framing our thinking before we met with agents on the ground.”
